The Sognefjord - Norway`s deepest and longest fjord.
This organized round trip combines a beautiful boat journey on the Sognefjord with the spectacular train journey on the Flam Railway. Whether you take the train from Oslo or Bergen, the Bergen Railway Line is a wonderful experience. However, when you arrive at Myrdal station and board the train on the Flam Railway, you are starting an incredible train journey.

The Bergen Railway
The Bergen Railway is an unique experience on Northern Europe´s highest railway. One of the greatest challenges is the harsh and changeable weather. The line is exposed to deep low pressure centres from the west, which can mean strong winds and heavy snow for part of the year. To be able to keep the railway open demands great effort and technical knowledge. Today skilled workers, effective equipment, tunnels and snowtunnels make the Bergen Railway one of the safest and most comfortable way of travelling between Oslo and Bergen. The Bergen Railway was recognized to be one of the 20 best railway experiences in the world in 1999.

The Flam Railway
The train descends slowly and the views of sheer cliff faces make it difficult to believe that you can take a train through this landscape. Once you are down in Flam, nestled in the innermost corner of the Aurlandsfjord, there is time to eat and to take a little walk. If you want to spend more time in Flam, we recommend you to visit the Flam Railway Museum. The idyllic village of Flam also has several options of accommodation.

The Sognefjord
The journey by express boat out in the Sognefjord has views of tall, impressive mountains along the Aurlandsfjord. Out towards the sea, the scenery becomes more open and is teeming with a variety of bird life. In the middle of the fjord we can see passengers being transferred from the express boat to the ferry. The Sognefjord is Norway's deepest (1309 m) and longest (204 km) fjord.
