Connex Arctic Trains – A Journey to Europe’s Last Frontier
Norrlandståget – Connex arctic trains – distancing nearly 2,000 km – is one of Europe’s longest train routes.

Connex Arctic Trains give travellers an unparalleled chance to experience all of Sweden, from the rolling farmlands in the south to the arctic mountains in the north. The train crosses the Arctic Circle, travels past the tree line, bisects Abisko – one of Sweden’s most famous national parks – then passes over the rugged border mountains at Riksgränsen, before finally rolling down the hills of the fjords into Norwegian Narvik.

You can sleep in peace in a sleeper with an in-room toilet and shower; or if you prefer the company of others as you traverse this fairytale landscape of astounding panoramas and endless forests, then choose a couchette.  When you get hungry, enjoy the fabulous mountain views over a cup of coffee in the dining car, or why not savour a full dinner complete with wine.  Allow yourself to be pampered by the staff as you gaze out at the wilderness and enjoy the legroom.  All Connex coaches are going through extensive refurbishing expected to be completed by 2006. Welcome aboard!

Göteborg Botanical Garden, Gothenburg
The Göteborg Botanical Garden differs in many respects from most traditional botanical gardens on the European continent. It was conceived and planned by the municipality of Göteborg in the 1910's as a botanical garden with an extra emphasis on horticulture, and with a broad scope in the Swedish community life. It remains a public garden to this day. For a long time our garden was administered by the city of Gothenburg, but nowadays it is part of the larger Västra Götaland Region.

And more…
The southern region of Skane boasts numerous castles, medieval towns and fishing villages.
The northern region of Lappland with its unspoiled landscapes is ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, fishing or skiing.  In Sweden there is something for everyone with an adventurous heart!
